You can't have one set of cams that will work equally well for FI and NA applications. Both have very different intake and exhaust flow needs, and would require very different grinds. Now that's not saying Comptech or someone else couldn't make two sets of cams... one for the FI crowd, and one for the NA folks. But, the investment in machining and testing are huge. Grind a cam (which isn't that easy), test it on the dyno and the street, record every piece of data imaginable, then change duration or lift by the slightest fraction, and grind a new cam. Repeat that cycle for a couple of years trying to find the right combination of duration and lift. If testing isn't thorough enough, you'll end up with a lame product that gives a few more peak hp, but loses power everywhere else. Which Comptech or most other good companies aren't willing to bring to market, just to keep their name clean. Honda had the time and spent the money building this valvetrain. They won't be easily out done. A VTEC controller would probably do more for you just by engaging the hot cam earlier.

I completely understand that. Which is why I said I would like a set when I get the supercharger.

But thanks for the info all the same!

I doubt cams for our car can be had for under $1000. Remember people...this isn't a B-series motor. The F20C's camshafts are hollow...it is much more costly and complicated to manufacture a hollow cam. That's why Toda's cams are so expensive.

Toda cams are not as expensive to produce as you think the mark up is HUGE!

They may be cheap to produce, but not cheap to develop.

Has anyone put a modded RSX Type S engine into an S2K?. It seems like it might be feasible. More HP and midrange torque...

What was the powerband like on the 265 WHP motor? Can the head be swapped over? How different is the bottom end?
