Default Comptech icebox?

Hi

im in the process of looking for an intake kit for my 2000 s2k, i tried the 'search' function but nothing substantial has come up.

what i wanted to know was are there any expected gains from this intake kit, if any? also does it improve throttle response? and finally in terms of sound...does it give the car a much more beefy sound when vtec engages as oppose to the stock setup?

i would like to hear from owners of this intake kit, pros and cons.

Cheers

Check out Comptech's website...they have a dyno plot of the intake.
Throttle response is definatly improved and sound is deeper/louder than stock for sure.

it improves response I think plus looks nice
and there is a easy distinguished roar now at all parts of the band
all my friends ask is that an intake, they know the difference

box is a pain to get perfect, i reccomend the tein dampers becuase its hard to get the box and hood prop perfect plus the damper are nice anyhow

it will prob be my only power type mod.. so im stuck with it

filters on a stick seem to have the most improvement

as for the comptech one.... the carbon fiber box cover gets scrattched, cuase when you pull out the hood holder thingie it'll pull the cover up a little and when you close the hood it'll hit it.....

^^ or you can get damper and get rid of the hood prop stick like i spoke of above
granted i only opened the hood twice with it, i was careful and have no scrathes

if you are looking for a snorkle type look into the J's/Mugen/Spoon or other variations of.

The comptech pulls air from the fenderwell.

Love my Comptech intake.

Now I need to get the hood dampers so I can stop using my head to hold the hood open while I use two hands to replace the hood prop.

the guy i got my comptech intake from modified the airbox lid to accomodate the hood prop. i also got an extra box lid. so when the dampers come in, the hood prop goes away and the new box lid goes on
