Conscience of an 18 year old

They screwed me once when my car (Talon TSI) got stolen a few years back.
If one of you is with ALLSTATE i would get out while you still can.
"You are in good hands with ALLSTATE".
Ya, hands that SCREW you if you ever make a claim.

Mingster, not particularly. I've never been too interested in politics, nor have I ever been inclined to really get involved in an ABC group. Not that this factored into my decision, but they usually have a negative stigma attached to them.
Jay, you should have been around the "other board" last spring. Lots of people, possibly including some on this board, would have eaten you alive. Feeling ran strongly against teens driving or owning an s2000.
Some of the comments made were:
Teens don't have enough experience to handle a high performance car.
Spoiled brats got the car from "Daddy" and did not appreciate the car as much as those who "worked" for their car.
Parents who bought or allowed teens to drive an s2000 were pretty much sub-human and didn't care if their children remained alive.
"My child will do the same things I did at that age"
Only one guy "got it". He realized that it was the child, not the car, that mattered.
When my son saw the comments directed toward the two of us, he remarked, "not worthy of a response". Like you, he is a freshman at a well respected university, and has a lot of leadership skills. I applaud you for earning your parents trust and respect. Good luck in the future.
Love your parents, do well in school, enjoy the car, and drive safe.

The reality is, you've wavered and you're taking the car so the fact that you turned it down the first time really has nothing to do with it.
Get off the computer and go out and do something, kid. You should be partying and getting laid, but then I have no clue what you're like so... seem nerdy to me.

Take the care and have fun. Have as much fun as you can, but please be careful. I'm 29 and I wish I could have had this car back when I was your age. Things like this are best enjoyed by the very young.
And don't feel guilty, just never pass up an opportunity to tell you parents thank you for everything they've ever done for you.
