Hi guys. I currently own a 93 MR2. I am looking for another car. I am considering the s2000 because it is probably the best bang for the buck price-wise. It it a gorgeous car with a phenomenal engine and great handling. How much are some of you NYC guys paying for insurance? I am 24 with a clean record. Also how much are you guys paying a month financing vs. leasing? Would it be wise to buy a 1 year old s2000 and try to avoid the high dealer markups on these cars? Does Honda offer good financing or leasing programs on these cars? I know these are probably a lot of dumb questions so bear with me . I am just trying to get a general consensus. Also are they available in a hardtop?

Thanks
Mike

Sorry but I can't answer your question about insurance, see my signature. I although can help you with your shopping. In my searh near & wide I spoke to Tony Erceg @ Saratoga Honda in Saratoga Springs. Not having been to NY, my Rand McNally told me its just north of Albany. He will sell you his cars for MSRP all day long. I don't have his number here at home but I do remember his e-mail address: cargod5150@yahoo.com. He has faxed me a buyers order for $34,395, this included both spoilers & the side strakes. I would suggest holding on to the MR2 till Dec, Jan or Feb & buy one then as they have a tough sell for a rear drive convertible sports car during mid winter in NY. I'm sure you can find one discounted more than we guys in a warm climate ever will. Good Luck!!!

Whoops! Yes there is a bolt on hardtop option. The only drawback is it'll cost you around $3K. It's a fantanstic little car. But it's not for everyone nor was it intended to be. Get yourself a decent test drive if possible. I got even more excited after an hourlong test drive. And my wife was even grinning ear to ear after her turn & cars mean nothing to her. Drive a Boxter a 3.0 Z3 & even a Miata & new MR2 "Spyder" to compare.

Forget the bang for the buck thing . . . true BUT even without that gap, the S2000 is my sportscar!

Not my only car, would get annoying having to put such a machine through the tasks of a utility vehicle.

If you want an intense, involving, and demanding sports car the S2000 is for you.
