Considering an S2K NEED OBJECTIVE FEEDBACK
Guys,
I know you might get this a lot but I'm hoping your enthusiasm for the car might get some responses. I'm considering an S2K and need to know the honest pros and cons. I've had an NSX, Viper GTS, M Roadster, and now 911. I know what it means to have the the awesome indylike feel of VTEC as my NSX had the full RM Racing treatment.
Anyhow, my M Roadster and Viper were obviously torque monsters that could swing the tale out at will. My current 911 is in the middle. I love the looks, handling, hand built quality, and F1 like reving nature of the S2000. However the torque is always an issue. How much does a supercharger help? Since the S would replace my old q45 I suppose I could live without the extra neck snapping right? I was also considering an WRX. BTW, I hated the way the M Roadster flexed so the rigidity of the S is also very attractive. The S with wheels and a good 1 inch drop seems to be one of the cleanest, meanest looking cars on the road. Look at me, I'm talking myself into it. I need you guys to push me over the edge.

Why do you say hold off on the supercharger? Is there better ways to get HP and torque? In the NSX headers, exhaust made good boost and sounded even better. Is this not the case with S2K?
I say get one! They are a real enjoyable car to drive and the handling is just amazing. I bought mine and have loved every minute of it. If you want to buy a used one with 12k miles and yellow...mine is for sale
and located in Houston.

If you are looking for more torque and boost of the line and are welling to spend the money, I would say turbo would be the way to go. As far as the S2000 stock, there is no other stock car I would compare it to.

If you want lots of torque, buy a car with more than a 2L 4 banger. This is not the sort of thing that can be explained. Go test drive and decide for yourself. There is more to life than being hurled forward in a straight line. If that's your thing then you may be disappointed in what the S2000 has to offer. A vette can run a 12.5s 1/4, the S2000 can't without major modification. The S2000 runs mid to high 14's.
I don't think you will find what you are looking for in this car.
If you can't be happy with a Viper GTS, NSX, or a 911, then you sure as heck are not going to be put over the top by the S2000. It's a wonderful car but I don't think it will fill your needs.

I just went from a C5 Vette convertible to the S2000. The Vette is a torque monster (360lbs) and I don't mss it at all.
However, my daily drive changed significantly. I was driving 45 minutes in traffic every day. Now I have a 20 minute - 2 lane - twisty road to drive with no traffic. The S2000 is PERFECT for this kind of drive. If I still lived in my old house, the Honda would get old real quick.
