Console Cover Question (Attn Rick)
Rick, a while back you stated that there was going to be a retro-fit for us with the old tape version to get the new glove fit version. Is this still in the works? Just curious because I'd definitely be interested. Thanks!!
I've been meaning to post this, but keep forgetting. After many tries, we have concluded that the retrofit will not work satisfactorily. The old style cover cannot be refitted with the new attachments without leaving unsightly stitch holes from the old seams. So we've given up.
thanks anyways rick!
even though some owners of the first generation covers have said that they may slip or bunch up on the sides, if installed carefully and taken care of, i dont see how anyone can complain about their cover not being top rate. the cover was definately the best interior aesthetic mod i have ever done, and for anyone with a 00-01 s2000, this is a must have. you should see the look on my gf's face as i spend more time conditioning the cover than the seats!
for those who have the first gen (tape) covers, and have problems with the covers slipping, go to home depot and get some 3M double sided thin tape. not the emblem tape, you need to get the thin stuff. it was $2.79/ roll, and if you ever remove your cover and expect it to stay on w/o new tape, think again.
rick, im sure i speak for most of the s2ki.com community when i say, 'Thank You'. you and your company make owning and driving the s2000 so much better! from your badges, voodoo knobs, top notch leather accessories and now your awesome diffusers, its amazing what youve done.. you've listened to us and did what whatever you could to help us
may the new year bring you and yours good health and prosperity.
