i have noticed that the shiny coting on my plastic edging around my shifter is beginning to flake off. I don't like the way it looks, does anyone know if this is a warranty item? there is absolutely no damage to the piece or any really noticeable scratches.

Congratulations!! You are now eligible to take a couple cotton balls and rubbing alcohol to the rest of the plastic plate around the shifter and make it look beautiful!

It's very easily scratched, as soon as I had a couple marks on mine, I did the above and it turned out beautiful. Can anyone back me up on this?

 

I'm starting to get dark blotches in the grey outside area of the console..is that the area that you are talking about?

19 months after installing the titanium trim pieces, I have no regrets. I paid about $182 via American Express. I don't know what they would cost today. Both price and dollar/yen ratio might have changed.

i did this but i used brake fluid to take off the paint. it turned out great without a scratch and looks 10 times better than stick on titanium pieces.

 

I did mine last night with rubbing alcohol. That was a great tip, it looks great!
