Default Convertible Top...

I was just wondering if the top fades.. i have had my s2000 for only a couple of months and it seems as if it has faded... i know it probably hasnt.. maybe just because 99 percent of the time i drive with it down.. so once i saw it up i was like.. hmm so thats what color it is.. and also it really only looks a lot lighter in direct sunlight?

Being made of PVC, it really shouldn't fade. Think it's due to the contrast in your black paint? Perhaps it's dirty (embeded dust and other nasties)?

My guess is it's not faded, it is just a little dry looking compared to when you picked it up from the dealer.

Meguiars #40 Vinyl Cleaner/Conditioner will make it showroom new again.

Yup, use Meguiar's #40 or Lexol Vinylex. Both of those products should restore the top to the original color.

I actually use Meguiar's #40 on my top once a year and it makes it look brand new. You can use it more often, but my car is garaged almost all the time so it doesn't see much direct sunlight.

You could also use the Porsche cleaner and conditioner for the top, comes up like new

Dunno about fading but I have just had my rear window replaced under warranty. My Stook is almost 22 months old and is garaged every day and every night. In addition, the roof is down 99% of the time I drive. The window section that was replaced includes a small roof material strip at the base of the window. There is a very clear contrast beween this and the original roof material. I don't know whether the rest of the roof has faded or it is just dirtier but it certainly looks like about half a dozen shades lighter.

Dido. Just got mine back and felt the same way. I didn't even realize how much the top needed a cleaning until I saw that strip of new material! Warranty covered mine too.
