Default convertible top best left up or down when short-term storing??

I'm looking at my upcoming purchase and am pondering the hardtop --

-- when not driving the vehicle (on weekdays and the like), is it best left with the top down and hartop on, or with the top up and hardtop off?

thanks --

If you park in a garage why not leave both off (I do!). If not, I'd say put the soft top up short term (less risk of damaging your H/T by minimising on & offs).

Another thread had a great idea to put the top up but don't latch it. Someone said the manual recommended that for long term storage. Lots of dust in my garage, I always put the top up. It's only a button push to do it. I was hot to get a hardtop before I got the car, now I don't want one.

My hardtop is on from Oct to April/May. Never had any problems with ragtop when it was time to raise it.
