I hate to say this out loud, but are you sure the thing is *latched*? Cause that's exactly what it looks like when it's not latched but the top is up. Just thought I'd check.

I've seen this before, but only on cars where the top is down all the time and then a year later, the owner decides to put the top up and notices it shrank and doesnt' fit just right.

if this is the case, do chime in.

Mine has this problem as well, only not as severe, and just on the left side. The only convertible top adjustment I found in the Helm's manual was for fore/aft positioning (a stopper just behind the doors); however, I couldn't find anything for vertical adjustments (the latches don't look like they have any).

Anyway, if anybody does know the answer, please speak up. Mine is still under warranty, so I should have no problem getting the dealer to fix it -- actually, perhaps that's an oxymoron... Dealer... Fix... Hmmm...

My top is folded down under my hardtop for 6 months every year. It does NOT have this problem. Are your front latch plates loose? Can you hold it with your fingers and move them? If so, they can be tightened by screwing them in more. If not, then see if the dealer will install the latch plate from the hardtop kit. These will pull the soft top in a lot harder and much closer to the windshield frame.

Can you leave it in the sun to loosen the top and see if the tightness goes away?

I had the same problem with mine when I first bought it as I did not know anything about how the top was supposed to be lowered/raised. The problem was that I put the top up and just latched it down without pulling it down firmly with the grab handle in the middle and then latching it.

Have you tried this before latching it down?

I just latch and go. Seems like your latches and/or brackets have to be misaligned or worn.
