Smile Convertible top has a small tear in it....

I just noticed a small tear on my convertible top on the drivers side. It's less than a 1/2 inch right now. It happened naturally. How could it fix it? Is it fixible? How much to new tops go for installed?

If you need a pic, I could take one.

Thanks.

I noticed on MY01 the top, on the drivers side, near the window, looks like it's getting worn on the inside in one spot, because it could be rubbing against something. Not torn yet, but I'm concerned. Is this what happened to yours before it tore?
Anyone know how to prevent it from tearing through?
thks....

I didn't notice any worn out spot before it happened.

I'm just curious to know if there is fix for now. I will eventually get a new one. I saw one on Hardtop's website for around 700. Are these hard to install? How much to install it?

I noticed the top was about to rip, so i Just put a leather patch over it and used some silicon to adhere it to the surface of the vinyl.. it is holding up alright now. Still no rip.

If your over 3 years or 36k its not going to be covered under warranty. Its also considered a wear item.

I'm guessing you have the duck tape on the inside...right?

I had no warranty, 66k miles, no dealer relationship, and hondacare goodwilled 75% of my new top which came out to $500ish.

Damn.... I'll have to stop by the dealer. I usually don't have that good of luck but it's worth a shot.
