Default Convince me to get an '04-'05

Had my heart set on an AP1, but started thinking, why not an AP2 instead?

AP1 +'s:
-9k RPM
-rear valance more lo-key, better for single exhaust
-firmer sway bars (right?)
-VTEC hits harder

-anything else?

AP2 +'s:
-newer
-nicer headlights, LED tails
-17's stock
-seems to look more muscular from some angles
(are the body panels identical to the AP1?)

-anything else?

So basically, what is improved between say, an 04 to an 03?

Only an owner of an Ap2 would say something like that............

I am dealing with the same issue. I want a *New* car, but i am not sure I want an Ap2.

AP2 is faster, straight line and handling, done deal!

BTW, Vtec might feel as if it kicks less only because there is more power before the engagement point.

the ap1 is slightly more exciting to drive, but the ap2 feels like a nicer car, better ride quality, smoother trans, steering.

Drive both then decide which one YOU want more.

VTEC "hitting harder" is actually BAD, because this is a sign that you're making far more power during VTEC than before it... where-as on the AP2 it is making much more power before VTEC, so the transition is much more smooth.

This topic has been beaten to death, but... Ive owned both and I like my AP2 far better.

All I know is that if my car didn't have the 9k redline I wouldn't have bought it. It's what makes this car special and without that your just in BMW & Ferrari rev territory

Well, I've driven both. I don't have quantitative proof, but it sure seems like it does, especially the sound. My gf has an Accord w/VTEC, and you can't even tell.

Another + for the AP2 I just thought of - gearing. Lower gearing in 1st, taller gearing in 6th.
