Cool. I didn't know Honda ever made such a car. Do you know about what year it is? Was it ever imported into the US?

Ryan-

Thanks for sharing. Cool pic's

Erik-

The S2000 is a descendant of a long line of interesting S sports cars. I'm no expert, but I know that there's been a ton of info. posted before on these cars. I'd suggest a quick search. Otherwise someone who is smarter than me might be able to point you in the right direction.

thats very cool

good found

there are still a S800 in my local Honda dealer...

I am not too sure did they import here or not

S500 is the first 4-wheel car that Honda made, and soon update S600, S800. they are cars that the design is very close to motorcycle. very simple and high rev at that time.

If I am wrong, someone please correct me.

Honda actually started with the Honda S 360 Cabriolet in fall of 1962. From there, the s500,600,and 800 followed. It was the only Hondas that were front engined, rear wheel drive til now with the s2000. It was also chain driven similar to motorcycles. Production was from 1962 (Prototype debut) til I believe 1967 with the s800.

I wonder what made them abandon the use of a mesh grill in later years (S2K). I guess maybe weight considerations...

My neighbor has a pristine S600, 1965. It's in great shape. He and I were at a local drive in that is basically a place for the car nuts to hang out and talk cars and show off their cars, of course.

We had the two red Honda S cars sitting side by side. His S600 and my S2000. Ron was telling everyone the history of the Honda S series cars. It was pretty cool. Most of the people had no idea that Honda made either one of the cars.
