Default cool product

been looking around for a snowboard carrier for when I get my S next week so I can head off to Scotland with it.

anyway stumbled across these guys - they have just finished their s2000 version.
It's a luggage rack but also attachments for snowboard / skis / surfboards etc

Oh no, I thought I've seen it somewhere before ... Oh yes, an MX-5, Miata, Roadster whatever you guys wanna call it. Seriously, don't you think that looks ugly? Convertibles are meant to have little or no boot space and if you want that sorta storage space, you should be driving a more practical car. These days, cars are all at affordable ranges ... In this case, a Subaru WRX would be the closest match probably. I'm just giving an example, not a direct specification nevertheless.

The lugguage rack looks like it requires to be a permanant fixture, at least you need to drill holds to put that in place. I would never do that to my precious S2K anyway, and I can be damn sure it affects the aerodynamics of the car like nothing else matters. But I use my S2K as a performance machine, not some holiday inn mover. That's just my personal opinion anyway, it might not be ideal to what you wish to see in feedback about this item or product.

Did you read the site that sells the rack? It specifically states that no drilling or cutting is necessary. It's not a permanent fixture and can be removed easily. As such, I wouldn't mind having it for my occasional ski trips. Of course the rack would be off most of the time but it would be handy for some of us who do only have the S2k as a daily driver.

Anyone know if a regular roof rack will work if you have a HT?

Well last year I went for the cheap version : just a strap!
Basically I would put my snowboard (161) in the trunk, with the nose sticking out on the passenger side, and tighten as much as possible the trunk with a strap passing between the interior hook (down) and the steel structure of the trunk. Worked perfectly for short trips.
This year I'll just borrow a Mercedes G500 (the good life of car journalism )

Somebody once said that all you need room for in the trunk of a sports car is a toothbrush and a nightie

That luggage rack looks very well thought out. Excellent in particular for those without a second vehicle.
