Cool s2000 video
Don't forget that they mentioned the s2000 had a clumsier engine...WTF?...Really?!!!
30k in #'s is what? 40k in US currency?
That civic is a track weapon. I'd like for them to run the CR model against that civic.
Lets not forget that it's a civic that's about $40,000...Did you really expect a piece of junk for that kind of money?!!
Regular civic Si is what...$18,000-$20,000? I bet if I threw down $20,000 in my s2k it would outperform that civic in a heartbeat. That whole show was written to put that civic on a pedestal and bad mouth the s2000. They said lots of good about it most of the time but mentioned the drawbacks for maybe 5 seconds out of the whole segment(Interior quality feels too fragile and the suspension was incredibly stiff for daily driving).

My K20 EM2 (2004) civic that I had before the S2k was a track beast. It made 201whp/151trq compaired to the S2ks 210whp/14xtrq on the same dyno and weighed in at 2500lbs compaired to the S2ks 2800lbs. The suspension was setup very well and predictable, you could push the car to the limits and provoke oversteer through lifting the throttle or trail breaking on comand and could be stuffed into corners with utmost confidence. I was passing M roadsters, vetts, older 911s, just because of how hard the car could be pushed.
That being said I love my S2k. It is slower in every way than my civic was, but it is soooo much more fun, gets so many more looks on the street (not the oh look at that ricer look), and is way more comfortable and streetable than the civic was. If I had the $ and could stomach spending the time away from my wife on the track I would still have the civic. But I wanted something that we could both enjoy off the track and I could still have a good bit of fun with those couple of times I am able to make it to the track. The S2k is perfect for where I am at now in life.

well let someone profesionally tune the s and make it into a full on race car and see how it does,i like that civic, but really its like comparing my s2k to one that has been modded for track use, i'd get smoked all day long

The stock S2000 is lacking the suspension and tyres with which to compete.
Intake, Exhaust, Coilovers, front and rear under braces, same tyres as the Mugen and the tables would be turned

I also agree w/ Hypersonik...Except of the Intake and exhaust additions I would add a mild(100-150hp) supercharger. As we all know, the F series motor doesn't reply to bolt on mods as well as a K series motor so it wouldn't be as beneficial to add an intake and exhaust as it would be to go mild boost.

The S2000 they tested has the same suspension setup as the JDM Type-S which, IIRC, is the same as the CR.

i love the mugen! but, in all honesty, the s2000 is not as easy a car to drive. the potential of the s2000 with the right driver is more then that of the civic.
plain and simple, fwd cars are much more forgiving in the corners then a rwd car. and especially a s2000.
i like to tell people that my s2000 is a bit "sensitive" at times
