Default Cost to replace and repaint bumper

Hi everyone,

This weekend I'm going to go look at an 05 S2000 that will most likely need a new bumper (no wreck...a pit bull bit it trying to get a cat that was hiding in the bumper). Just curious if anyone had an idea how much that would run so I can figure it into my consideration of the price? Unfortunately I can't just run the car by a body shop. Just looking for a ballpark #...$500, $1500, etc. Thanks.

It will depend on several factors including any needed body work to remove scratches, etc. Get several estimates and make sure they can match the paint to perfection. That said, plan on $500-$900.

Check with your honda dealer a lot of them have companies that show up and repair bumpers on the spot.

I can see my moms dog (pit bull) doing something like that... Think about the horror of your dog destroying your car..

Depends on what you like you could get a different bumper if thats the route you were going in the first place it wouldn't be to bad.. Also check the for sale forums for a used bumper it may help you a lot..

New front bumper cover is ~$225 plus shipping (at http://www.parts.com). You might ask a paint shop if you can save any money by having them paint it off the car, then installing it yourself after it's painted. It may save a few bucks, just a thought...

^not necessarily a good idea. My local, very reputable shop said they have to match/blend the paint while the bumper is on the cover (it was a silver satin metallic), so it made no difference as they had to put it on to the car anyway.
