So many have talked about the reason for crashes, why not put some numbers behind the talking.
Please only vote for big crashes, no fender benders please.
And guys please be honest !

Where do we draw the line between fender benders and big crashes? I've never been in a "big crash" but have 1) spun out off the road 2) rear ended a friend (aieeee!) 3) had two separate parking garage attendants damage the same right rear quarter panel.
Two of these were my fault and two were not. But damages did not total over $2k for even the worst accident (the rear-ending).

how about 15? that was accident #1 and #2.
#1 - I was 15, first day of driver's education and actually driving. first day was usually parking lot driving and parallel parking, blah. the instructor didn't show, I went through the classroom twice that day while everyone else got hooked up with other instructors. second day - my first day of driving behind the wheel - besides my driveway at home, rolling out a car to the end of the block with my brother - I went on Kirkwood in Houston - limit is 35, avg speed 50 or 60 or so. some guy hit me while coming out of a "Sonny's" quick-e-mart. the car looked like it had fish tailed a pole - hit in the right rear quarter panel. in class the next day they called me a thoughtful person because I got the car out of the way as quickly as possible - because I drove it into the lot next to the Sonny's to get it out of the way. blah! whatever, the car was hit and I was FORCED to go in that direction - newton's law anyone? - I just accepted it. I was nicknamed, "Crash" shortly thereafter.
#2 - I was 15, front passenger seat - bad accident, very very bad - I'll leave it at that. a few other minor bumps post age 16.

I would say the numbers are telling the story. Thankfully I am older and wiser, but damn I do have to say, those old wild days when I was single were a hell of a lot of fun.
Thank god I am now retired and live a very quiet life.
