Default Crashed my Nissan and going to buy an S2000

Hi everyone, I got in an accident with my 1993 300ZX NA. I'm new to the site btw. It was the other person's fault and her insurance declared it a total loss. I'm going to be getting some money and I've been seriously wanting to upgrade to an S2000. I've never owned a Honda but have driven my brother's '02 Accord. Any thought's on which year I should get. It's usually the newer the better but there's people that prefer the AP1 over the AP2 and vice-versa. What do you guys recommend?

Read the FAQ thread
Read the AP2 vs AP1 threads
Test drive both
etc

You're going to literally get 300 opinions in this thread.

Not try to be a dick

Just giving you the heads up. The whole 9K > 8k debate stuff is ridiculous, and everyone thinks something different. You're honestly best off driving both and seeing what you like.

Quick overview:

00-03 (F20C, 9k rpm, 00-01 plastic window, 02-03 glass window, quicker steering rack, stiffer suspension, smaller wheels)
04-05 (F22C, 8k rpm, glass window, softer suspension, upgraded looks, etc)
06+ (F22C, 8k rpm, VSA, DBW, reflashable ECU, etc)

I have an '07 which has the VSA, that has a button that can be turned off. Make sure to try a car with and without this. Hopefully you can actually try to do a partial donut or some maneuver to see how this works. And obviously with this in mind, test drive the cars like you would drive them IRL.

Once you read the threads it should give you a good idea on what you are looking for. Personally i prefer AP2's.

All evidence points to the newer S2000's being increasingly better (if only slightly) and newer usually means lower miles and overall better condition.

I love my AP1 but I would buy an AP2 if money were not an issue.

AP1's are a significantly better value (more car for the $$) if you find the right one.

Good luck!
