Sorry about your crappy luck.

Being tired or drunk and working on your car or any machinery is a big no/no! Believe me I know...

I was working on my motorcycle once had it up on the center stand and had it in gear to spin the chain so I could spray lube on it and then without thinking I forgot to take it out of gear or turn it off before putting it back down(dumbass!)...needless to say the bike jumped out of my hands, straight into my work bench, fortunately I was able to keep it from falling over but I tore up the front fork...lesson learned!

A long time ago when I had my lude, I replace my h23 with a jdm f22b. The plugs we're torqued correctly and I was losing compression and the threads got fcked. So I took it to the dealership where they were able to rethread it. They parked it in the service lot right infront of a mint 94+ Red manual TT supra. Well, when I park my car I NEVER leave it in gear. Always in neutral. Without thinking about it, I go to start my car, lift the clutch and it lunges forward. Luckily I caught it but the plates were nearly touching. It didn't even look like I could fit a quarter inbetween.

My brother has an Elise which doesn't require you depress the clutch to start the car. Of course, one time I started it without depressing the clutch. However the car was in gear! I always leave my S2000 in gear but it's not a big deal since I have my clutch depressed anyway; I don't move it into nuetral to start. Well, habit prevailed and the car jumped forward!

Luckily, I was in our driveway with a good amount of distance between the next car. For those of you who are familiar with the clam of the Elise, that would've ended up being a very expensive fix!

THIS is why I made it a habit since I learned to drive manual was to always go to neutral before starting the engine. It's a natural thing to do in the same way you should always be going to neutral when stopped at a light or sitting in traffic, not moving.

Wow...We've all made stupid "Do'h" mistakes. I raised my wipers to clean my windshield. popped the hood and opened it up forgetting to put the wipers back down. Heard the most annoying sound of the paint on the edge of my hood being scrapped off by the wiper brackets. luckily it was at the edge and I cleaned it off and used some touch up paint. Not noticeable unless you look for it.

I have a nearly OCD habit of checking the stick for neutral. Repeatedly.

I belong to this club as well. I iddn't have my wipers up, but managed to bump the wiper switch while the hood was up.

The wiper arms do not clear the hood's edge if the hood is raised.
