Default crashed s2k

got my brand new S2k last week.....just went out on a drive and rear end snapped out exiting a corner...

smashed into curb v hard. drove home v slowly.....stearing felt loose and veered to the left.

rear alloy went into curb v har as well.

feeling heartbroken, anyone know what the potential damage is? how much is it to fix steering?

is the rear axle likely to have been dented?

thanks in advance guys.

sigh....

You have to be careful til you learn to drive it. Prolly need a new rim, and at the very least an alignment. Not sure what else you could have broken.

well - were you going into the corner way too hot? If you were driving "normally" first check to see if you have any spring spacers left in - they will cause some crazy tail-wagging if left in. If that is the case - I would push back HARD on the dealership who delivered it...

My car was delivered with all of the spacers in and I could tell the rear end wanted to slide at the slightest throttle input - so I checked that night and there they were...

one should take the time to learn the limits of any new vehicle..........just common sense.......25 or 30 in first coming out of a turn, well into vtec, 70% throttle..........oh boy.............not surprised.................car is very responsive at that point............that will catch up with you real fast................two words........."driving school"............

This car has a short wheelbase and reacts very quickly to strong driver inputs. Smooth usually equals fast with the S2000.

Also, a thing to watch out for is new S02's. They take a while to come in. Furthermore, if they are cold -- forget it.
Those are some intricacies of our car. That's what makes some people love it and others to hate it.
Check your tire pressures also.

You're not the only one, I have had a worst accident. It's an accident, so let's keep it that way. The good new is you're ok.

I don't know how it goes in GB but here you should have called the insurance company right away. If you don't have insureance and you'll be paying out of your pocket be prepared to spend a lot of money, this car is very expensive to repair/paint. If you can post a picture of the damages you might be able to get an estimate from folks here who've had similar damages.

Good luck with the repairs!

25-30 in first or second gear? If it was second gear and you hit the throttle - then I would be surprised you lost it - if it was in 1st - then I'm surprised you didnt spin like a top...

RE: spring spacers - If you look at the coil springs front and rear you will either see right through the spring coils - or you will see rubber spacers jammed in between the spring coils. Do a search for some pics.
