craving to drive
is there any other car that you HAVE DRIVEN in the past, whether a buddy's or on a test drive (not one you dream of driving) that you crave to drive more than the S? if so, why?
I've been test driving the Caymen / Caymen S and have been bitten by the bug. First off, I love the styling!! During redline driving around curves I keep saying Boy would I love to have this at the track. Is it worth almost double the cost of my S2000? That's a tougher question to answer than I thought it would be. Normally I'd say Hell no; but I got to really push it on this last test and I was blown away by the feedback, handling, and confidence level it instantly builds. I also love the cockpit comfort - adjustable up & down & telescoping steering wheel, adjustable seats, etc. I felt the car adapt to me rather the other way.
regarding the comfort issue, it's true that you either fit into the s2000 or don't. if you don't i can imagine it would be pretty hard to get used to it and the cayman is prob a better choice, albeit expensive.
the boxster s is my 2nd fav car to the S. it was fun, but im suprised you say it gives more feedback since i felt the exact opposite. the car felt soft, removed and not as involving as the S, but a great car.

I drove a nicely restored early-70s 246 Dino that my neighbor owned. Loved it. Pedal feel was quite different from the S, but in many ways the concept of the car, overall, is similar. Such a car is out of reach for me, though, and I wouldn't want to have to maintain it.
Of modern-era cars, I would love to drive a Carrera GT, but doubt I'll have a chance.
