Default Creative ideas for transporting stock exhaust in an S2000

This Friday, I plan to rent a car and drive 3 hours to buy an S2000. The car has been modified and the owner will include all OEM parts, including the stock exhaust. That's not going to fit so I need a creative way to get it back. What crazy ideas do you have?

The OEM exhaust is a one piece system, weighs a lot and will be impossible to transport three hours in an S2000.

Could have it cut up and then if you ever plan on using it have it welded back together.

Hah! Thanks for the harsh reality check. Looks like I will have to try to sell one of the two exhaust locally then.

put oem exhaust back on the car and bring the aftermarket one in the car.. most aftermarket exhausts are 2-4 piece systems that should fit more easily

afzan, good suggestion! I didn't even think of that. The seller says it's an Apexi WS2 exhaust. A Google image search shows that it comes in several smaller pieces.

Wrap the pieces in a towel, then tie them securely down on your passenger seat, should be right to go!

Thanks again for the suggestions. The seller is willing to help me transport the OEM exhaust to a nearby shop, where I'll get the exhausts swapped. I'll pick up some furniture pads from UHaul to protect everything.
