Cross country in my s2k!
I'm driving my S2000 from Boston to Los Angeles in mid-June! This is the first time I've driven cross-country and I'm planning my 1.5 week route right now.
What are everyone's favorite drives around the nation? Best canyon runs, most scenic, no speed limit areas, best curves, etc. I'm going to base my route mainly on this info.
General road trip tips are appreciated, too.
Thanks!!

General road-trip tip - top-down + earplugs =
I can't help with your route though - you're quite north of my Dallas -> SF trip. Looks like you're be near some cool stuff in the CO, UT, NV, CA areas.

If you're going top down the whole way, ear plugs are a must.
There was a thread a long time ago where an audiologist(?) member posted all these measured results from the wind noise in the S2 on the highway. I believe he said you start causing actual damage to your ears after a couple hours.

I woudl say Cannon ball Run drive as fast as you can
And he would have to do it in less that 32 hours and 51 minutes , and average better than 87 mph to beat the record.
Hell, I'm game if Brock will sanction it!

I may take my S2000 from Maryland to Arizona in late June / early July. Unless someone buys it first (see below).
I've driven cross-country a few times. Some cool sights are:
Badlands of S. Dakota
Mt. Rushmore in Black Hills of S. Dakota
Devil's Tower in Wyoming
Big Horn Mtns of Wyoming
Yellowstone National Park - Wyoming
Or consider Pikes Peak in Colorado
Arches National Park in Utah (Moab)
Bryce Canyon & Zion National Parks in Utah
Las Vegas (1 night is on the strip in enough)
Grand Canyon in northern Arizona
Not too many highlights East of Illinois. I'd take the northern route through Minnesota and S. Dakota & Wyoming. It'll be very pretty. Then dive down through Utah and over to Nevada and down to the Grand Canyon. Then head West to California.
I did most of these stops on a 3 week round-trip tour....but that included some Montana sites and several days in each place. You can do this in 10-11 days easy!

Do take the time to sightsee a little bit.
Make sure the car is in top shape before departing, and at least visually inspect it again every day on the trip.
Don't leave anything valuable in the car -- be very obvious about taking everything out of it each night.
Bring some of your anti-inflammatory drug of choice.
Use the cruise control as much as possible on the flats in good weather, but be more careful about it in bad weather or the mountains.
Bring some music you can stand to listen to over and over and over again.
