cross-country trip, take 2
Sorry for the repost, but my first thread on this topic didn't go so well. Let's try this again:
Hi, I'm the editor of a sports car magazine, and we'll be doing a factory-supported S2000 project car next year. (It's a black 2004 model.) On X-mas Eve, I'll pick up the car from LAX and drive back to our home office in Central Florida. If any cool S2000-type things are going on along I-10 later this week, drop me a note: grmdavid@aol.com. Also, thanks for the technical tips sent my way so far.

I was hoping you were going to ask for volunteers to drive a new '04 S cross-country & then report the findings. I was going to be the first one to say "sign me up"!
Any chance of that?! I can offer comparisons between my '03 and the '04!

Have a good trip, I've done that drive several times. I-10 is boring through Texas, what a wiiiide state to drive through! Got a ticket in El Paso, cops are tricky there and the geography gives them some good hiding/ambush places. I'd definitely take up any offers for some diversions in Texas, and you have to stop in N.O. also.
Let me know when you get back, there are a few Daytona area owners and we'd definitely be interested in hearing about the project.

If you still have the car on 1/10/04, we are having a large S2K meet in Tampa. We have 20+ S2Ks and maybe an NXS attending so far.
If interested, please PM me. Details are here. http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.p...threadid=163668

Okay, looks like my schedule has been figured out. (In other words, a major deadline just passed so I can now think about other things.) I have to be back in Florida on the 28th, so unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to make the New Orleans thing--bummer. Also, I may take I-20 through the state so I can meet up with our writers. I'll try to post some updates during the trip. But once I'm back in Florida, yeah, we need to get together.

David, I started autocrossing with Tim many years ago at Martin in Orlando. It's been great seeing the magazine move up to being the best of the breed.
Welcome to the board. We'll all be interested in reading the articles on the car in Grassroots Motorsports .
David didn't say it but I will. If you don't know GRM (Grassroots Motorsports) you need to pick up an issue or even get a free one from their website. The staff is great and they have time for fun with the rest of us.
Disclaimer: I have no connection to GRM other than enjoying a magazine staffed by true enthusiasts.
