Default Curbed!

I crashed the car on a curb last night.

There isn't any visible damage, but the alignment is waaaaaay off.

I took it to wheel works to get it aligned but they told me the lower control arm is bent and "sway bar bushing"(can't remember correctly) got damaged.

Can I replace those parts myself and afterwards get it aligned somewhere else?

any help would be great

Do you know what you're doing and do you have tools? Then yes, you can replace them yourself.

Unfortunately if you have to ask, then most likely the answer is no.

this same thing happened to me (a stupid 18 year old boy) a month after my parents got me the S. hahahahaha i JUST read that your S2k age is the same as mine was when this happened to me! well anyway, the damage ended up being about $3000. i thought "no visible damage, the wheel is just crooked, so it should be ok." but they checked it out and control arms, etc. were all messed up. if the people who checked it out didn't do a full inspection of the suspension, you should get that done then go from there. also, my EPS wasn't working after the accident. for some reason, so the wheel wouldn't return to center after a turn. just get it checked out fully and go from there. hopefully it's not as bad as mine was. oh yea, a huge chunk of my front right wheel broke off so we had to get a new one of those, too.

take it easy until you know the car, dude. the S takes A LOT of getting used to cause of the absence of traction control combined with the power, its weight, and the fact that it's rear wheel drive. after about a year or so of driving it you'll be a pro (hopefully).

although it's rare, you'll sometimes find control arms the FS section.

I always wondered how you guys smack a curb without completely tearing the front lip off. Locally the curbs are big enough here to do body damage to the front.

when it happened to me, i didn't have a lip, just OEM front bumper. it flexed the bumper back (so i had crack marks all over), but that was it. i guess it's because i hit it from the side and not head-on.
