I'm heading into college in the fall (UCSD!!!) and I would like to know your experience on owning a S2000 while paying for college. I'm still on the fence about buying a used S2000 and I have a couple of questions:

1. How did you guys manage?
2. Was it a PITA trying to get loans from banks?
3. If you could go back would you have rode the storm and bought the car later? (meaning after you graduate?)

1. I got scholarships, so paying for school wasn't too bad
2. I didnt need loans
3. I waited till I had a nice place with a garage before I bought my S. You dont want to leave such a nice car outside with stupid college students running around. I also have an awd vehicle to drive during the winter season.

 

1. Financial Aid is paying for most of school, with a little extra, so a part time job of 2 days a week was all I needed and I was set
2. Yes and No, if you can find a bank that will use your financial aid (if you have it) along with work income, you are golden, if not yes, PITA.
3. Absolutely not, best decision and most fun, that I've ever made. So good and beneficial I recently just traded in for a new one.

 

I robbed a bank so school and buying/modding the s2k isnt a big deal.
