Default Current S2000 market conditions: Going up?

I've been shopping for a Laguna Blue Pearl S2000 for the past few months and I've noticed that the market has jumped significantly.

I'm in Nor Cal and I know that pricing over here in California is going to be a little higher than other states in general, however, it seems like the going rate is around $20,000 for anything in the 2006 - 2008 year range.

For example, there's a 2008 LBP S2000 with 66,000 miles in So Cal listed for $25,988... I talked to the sales person there and they'll only budge a few hundred.

Up here in nor cal, there's a 2007 LBP S2000 with 97,000 miles listed for $19,900... I think he might budge a little on price.

So is it just me, or are the values on these cars (and maybe especially the Laguna Blue ones) going up?

Yes they are. Even KBB has somewhat caught up with the trend.

I feel like all 07s and 08s have gone up, even with higher miles. Since LBP is a later color you're stuck.

Why those years in particular?

Yep - these have been on the rise for the last year or so. They are becoming classics.
I got lucky on my 2007 - bought last Oct for 17.5k with 58k on the clock. When I was looking most stock AP2's below 60k miles in good condition were 20k+.

For the heck of it I just did a national search on Autotrader for 07' and newer with less than 75k miles and the cheapest one was 19k with 61k on the clock (interior not in great condition though).

Supply/Demand. There will be less S2000 on the road in the coming years due to people crashing their car or blowing up their motor.

It helps that summer is nearing.

I just got my loan refinanced on my 07 (65,907 miles as of this morning), and the bank valued the car at $22k, which is $1k higher than what they valued it at when I bought the car 2 years ago. I wouldn't pay $22k for my personal car, but I'm happy.

Prices are going up on clean title and minty s2k's... there is some deals out there to be had, but the 06+ models with low miles <50k is going to be higher as more time passes... Bridgewater Acura has some s2k's with low miles all selling for $30k+...

I've been noticing all model years creeping up in price. Check out this 03 AP1 on ebay right now. It's a rebuilt title AND had the interior flooded. The current bid is $15,100 and there is over a day left to bid. Look at the inconsistent gap between the body and the doors. The frame is probably bent, and people keep bidding.

Wow making me feel like I absolutely stole my '06 for $11K w/91K. It was filthy on the interior and needed new seats but with that done and a fresh paint job on the bumper, the thing is making me second guess taking it to the track and just selling it.
