Default Curse my wandering eyes!

Let me just start off by saying that me and my S2K are in a happy (mostly monogamous) relationship. She's good looking, reliable, hard working, not-too high maintenance, fun-loving, and she fulfills all my (driving) needs as I try to fulfill hers (w/ oil changes and pampering). I love her and couldn't be happier as she's the car that I've always dreamed of and after persistent chasing, she finally became mine. Most of the times when I'm on the road, I pay no attention or have no desire for any other car. But lately, my eyes have begun to wander and I've come to resent her ever so slightly: Why can't she have more power? Why is her stock wheel gap so unsightly? Why is an OEM hard top so damn hard to come by? I guess things that I was inclined to ignore or forgive during our honeymoon period. So as I was driving around today, I came across a sexy vixen in the form of a Nismo 370Z just sitting there at a dealership acting all flirty and inviting. And of course I couldn't help but stare and drool a little. Afterwards I felt kind of dirty and ashamed of myself, but nonetheless, my wandering eye has ever so slightly lit up my desire and lust for this new voluptuous "woman". I've never been a fan of the 350Z or 370Z for that matter, but something about the Nismo had me going. Has anyone else gone through a similar phase? Please talk some sense into me before I make what could possibly be the biggest mistake of my life!

don't do it, buy a turbo kit for the s2000 and call a day, s2000 look 10 times better when you dump some money into them, for what youll pay for the nismo you can buy coilover wheels, hardtop and half a boost kit lol

^agreed. Lower it a bit to get rid of that wheel gap and boost it to make it faster.

I'm currently going through a similar process, and have done so about four times in the last year, to the extent of putting mine up for sale each time.

Ultimately, though, that honeymoon magic comes back; the faults dip back in to the periphery, the shifter gets that little bit less notchy, the plastics rattle a little bit less. This is why mine has been for sale four times, and is still in my drive

I personally can't stand the newer Z's. I'd just mod your current car that has been good to you and make it the way you like it.

I came from a 350z to a s2000.....I like the 350z and the 370z ...didn't really like the nismo version on the 350 but overall I liked the car the only thing are that it's on the heavier side but it does feel planted on the road ..also it's roomier than the S if u are a tall person like I am overall it's and enjoyable car but they are more costly to mod than the S ur best choice is just test drive one and feel the difference between both cars I would definitely like to get a 370 in the future but will never sell my S that's a keeper

A buddy of mine works at Nissan and says he was surprised how often 370s step into the dealer for service and repairs. But he says the 350Z are the Audi of Japanese cars, breaking down like crazy. I never liked the Z, I've driven one SOOO granny-ish and well, I couldn't manage better than 19mpg. My BMW 740i gets better mpgs and its got a V8 and weighs 4200lbs. Not saying their bad, they're decent cars but I wouldn't own one ever.

I never liked the Z, especially with the cheap interior. I drove my friends once and pressed some buttons on the console and they broke. Not too mention the car is nowhere near as fun to drive.

I think it really comes down to admiring just how well built the S2000 is... its engine, chassis, interior, shifter, etc. There's something about it that is just so right. There have been a TON of people on this site that went on to try something else, including myself, and majority of us came right back! I made the big mistake of letting go of my 06 Laguna back in May of 2012. I was the original owner, pampered and babied it since it had 4 miles on the ODO. Bought a new STi, and was right back in an S2000 less than 4 months later. The S2000 is addicting, seriously. I don't think I've ever seen a car like it on the market. Where so many owners have bought them repeatedly. I'm on my 4th S2000, and there are many people around me that have had 2, 3, or 4 S2000s.

It's a car, that when you actually have, you tend to think about other cars(for me it's an NSX), but the second it's gone there really is something missing. Please, PLEASE, take my advice and keep the S2000. TRUST ME.

And there really is something to be said about a bone stock OEM S2000. The engine is just so damn perfect how it is. The sounds, feels, responses... it's just such a well balanced and built machine.
