I got my aluminium Cusco front strut tower brace today. The only directions are in Japanese, which I sadly can not read. Can you good people help me out? I tried to do a search, but I got a lot of threads on which brace is better, etc., but nothing on the actual installation.
Is it as simple as removing the existing bolts, putting the bar in and tightening the bolts back on? The car is a MY'04 if that matters any. Any help would be great. As you can probably tell I am not a master mechanic, so please type slowly. Thanks!

 

Yes. Hand thread the bolts back in and tighten to spec. Not sure, but I think the torque was 35 ft-lbs.

 

OK, I still need more help. I just went out to attempt to install this thing, and I have a problem. How in the world do you remove the bolts? I tried with all my might (which apparently is not much) and the bolts did not even budge. It felt like I was going to slide the car across the garage before the bolts would give. Are they cemented down or something? Am I just too much of a wuss? Do I need a special tool? I was just using an open end wrench. I hate to think I just wasted my money, if I can't install this thing. Please help!!!

 

weird...I found them rather easy to take off.
try using an extension of some sort (aka breaker bar)

 

sure ur not tightening the bolts? jk i installed my spoon one and it was fairly simple but i do believe there is some sort of glue(glue isnt the exact word im looking for?) on the bolt. my bolts had yellow markings on them so i jus went back to that original spot when i tightened it back up. good luck.

I too had a difficult time removing those nuts. You can do it, you just need to muscle them. I've also helped with a CUSCO installation on a friend's S and his were just as tight. So your problem is not uncommon. Don't sweat it. Just have a little patience.

 

No special tool. Remeber, righty-tighty, lefty-loosy. Put your back into it man.
