Wouldn't the bottom back of the door hit the back of the door opening and the front top hit the hood if it did that?

I think the door would need more of an angle cut to clear.

I personally won't do it, though I think they look quite nice. However if you are willing to spend that kind of money, I say go ahead. And please post pictures

As for the CRX, I saw it on sale on Ebay a year ago I think. The doors were supposedly made by some guy who used to work on Vectors.

That would make it very difficult to get in and out of as the your "new side" would block the seat. But hey, you could always jump into it butt first.

The door is basically a rectangle now, so if you hinged it, the back bottom would hit the door frame. So you would have to angle the door so that it would clear the frame when it hinged straight up. Your body would now have to extend into what the current door is, making it more difficult to get in/out.

Something like this:

Apologises to the owner of this white that I chopped up.

I've seen this kind of job done to an all show Eclipse at one of the Hot Import Nights. The entire unit must be hydraulically operated. The doors on the Eclipse first pushed out away from the car. Not swinging but actually extended out while remaining parallel to the side of the car. Then they swung upward a la Diablo. This way the door nor the sills and body needed to be altered. To make this car totally ridiculous the opening motion could be done via remote, but the closing was manual. THIS WAS A MAJOR JOB!! All the instruments were remounted in the center of the dash and all the hydraulic equipment was under the dash on either side. I got to talk to the owner of the car at one of the shows I saw it in and I asked him if it was worth it. He told me no. It was VERY costly (he did not specify) and that it required constant maintenance.

As a word of advice, it would look sick done properly to an S2000 but the ends do not justify the means. There is lot of other work that can be done with that kind of investment.

MAGNET, and to whoever else went to SEMA this year in vegas. my friends 00 mustang CONVERTIBLE was there that had these doors installed. they go up like the lamborghini, with motors though, all electric. there are actually two motors for each door, one that pulls the door out from the car , and one that the flips the door up. all of this was runningh off his alarm. needless to say, it was dam expensive, i think just the door thing was about 20000 bux. the car with the paint and motor was close to 80000. anyhow, i ll look for some pics for you, it looked incredible. all you people that say that s ricey, so funny, this was on a stang. with a blower. anyhow, only downfall i see is weight, im know that could not have been that light. hope that helps
