Default Custom Exhaust

I am 100% stock right now and I have $500.00 extra to spend this month....Now since my plans to go turbo are still in the works and about 1 year away as I chose to attend school rather then put money into my car....I wanted to do a custom exhaust system but I need a little bit of help deciding what muffler to use....As for pipping I am going to go with 70MM From the header back and I will have a test pipe made...So far I have a few mufflers in mind and I was looking for some info on not just the Muffler but on the whole set up in general...Thanks my goal are to gain some power 5-10RWHP and to have a deeper sound without alot of drone.......

1.) RS-R-Exmag GT universal Mufflers (Should I go 60 MM or 80 MM)

2.) Universal Stainless Hi-Power Muffler (what Size tip)

Any other mufflers suggestions are welcome...

PS I did search but some topics where rather old and alot of those topics where for FI S2000s...

If you're going turbo you'll benefit more from a 3 - 4 inch exhaust.

I have the Apexi N1, very deep and has alot of drone. It is the 3 inch inlet with 5 inch tip. I used 2.5 inch piping. Sounds GREAT!! But if u are S/C, go with 3, N/A stay with 2.5

I'd rather buy a used exhaust than spend $500 on a custom set up. It's also probably cheaper to buy a test pipe than get one made, depending on where you get it made. For $500 you could get a used JIC Magic bullet.

I paid $120 for a very good custom setup. Great piping with mandrel bends. You'll find good deals if u shop around.

Does anyone see a problem with 70MM all the way back?

I have a 50 dollar custom exhaust that i bought from another member. Oem piping with the resonator replaced with a high flow magnaflow resonator, and the mufflers were replaced with magnaflow mufflers. It sounds great and weighs a touch less than oem, and there is no drone. By the way most big companys charge $1200 roughly for a single ss exhaust that might make 5 hp, so i doubt that whoever makes yours is going to make 10 hp. Just dont want you to get your hopes up.
