Default Cut carpet on my new S2K

I just got my new (2001 Red) S2K last week and immediately found this web site. It's fantastic. One of the first things I read was what to check for when you take delivery. I remember one of the items was to check for a cut carpet on the drivers side. I was just vacuuming the carpets and noticed it had been cut to install the positioner for the drivers side mat. Is this what they were talking about? Is this a problem? It certainly doesn't come up to the fit and finish I'm used to in a Honda product. What's up with this?

They are all delivered this way. The cut in the cheap carpet is there to facilitate the installation of the peg to hold the mat in place.

Right. Muz is sure proud of those mats! I checked his site. $400+ is alot. How much can I save on a group buy? What's the exchange rate? Has anyone bought a pair lately? What was the cost?

I think that's AU $ not US.

AUD$400 is in the neighborhood of USD$205. Those must be the deluxe mats. The "regular" mats do the trick for me.

I wondered what the two long pieces of velcro were for I just loaded the mats into the driver and passenger footwells without reading the instructions.

How embarassing LOL

I fixed the problem by buying some of the sticky rubbery material you put between a rug and a wooden floor to stop it slipping.

Sorry Muz

But I am still extremely pleased with them.
