Default Cut off switch

Hey all I'm looking for info on how to Install a fuel cut off switch. I have a 2008 s2000 and I have a switch and 15 feet of 16g wire in a loom but I really don't want to cut into the harness if I don't have to. Is there anything out there for my car? I also don't know where I would cut into my harness. Is there any risk to doing this. Currently just lost and really hate electrical stuff.

Why do you want a fuel cutout switch? Anti Theft? There are some other electrical things you can do for anti-theft without touching mechanicals.

The car has an immobilizer. Could you tell your insurance that qualifies as a fuel cutoff switch?

Otherwise, you just need to interrupt the fuel pump's signal by installing the fuel cutoff switch

There are no plug and play options, so maybe download the Factory Service Manual (FSM) and look at the wiring diagram to see what your best option is?

yeah putting a cutoff or starter kill on anything with a transponder always irked me. if they can get by the chip you're already screwed. if you're hell bent on it the main relay would be a better place.

Where in California is auto theft insurance not available? Or is the CA in your profile Canada? Rumors indicate theft insurance is available in the Great White North too.

Parking on the street or other public lot overnight is an invitation for theft. Recall most of us carry a S2000 master key all the time (AKA pocket knife) so access to the interior is easy.

Auto insurance (here in the US) is regulated by the various states so what works in one may not work in another. When I was in NE Ohio, the poster child for ice and salted winter roads, my S2000 remained dormant in a closed garage from about December to April and I could drop all the "road liability" insurance and just retain fire and theft. Significant savings.

Use something like this:

Amazon fuse thing

Remove fuse, put this in its place. Now wire in a relay, an inline fuse, and whatever you want to use as a secret cutoff switch.

100% reversible, no harness hacking.

This technique could also be used to wire to a Normally Open oil pressure sensor, to cutoff engine if oil pressure lost.

Wiring would be, accessory power from aux fusebox connector to relay coil (place an inline fuse here, too).

Other relay coil wire goes to your secret switch, and other side of switch goes to ground.

When you turn on switch, it will close relay contacts.

Now connect the relay Normally Open connections. The idea is when relay closed, power goes through fuse and to fuel pump. Here is how that happens:

One end of yellow fuse thing to inline fuse. Then to relay NO lead. Then other relay NO lead to other pin on yellow relay thing.
