Default Cutouts on an S2000

This question has been burning inside of me for a loooong time. I was hoping some noob was going to ask it and get flamed for it, but no such luck

Anyways, would cutouts be a good idea for an S2000? They'd be cheap, and they'd offer both performance and comfort. I know they'd sound really bad with them open, but it'd only be for the track. Any thoughts?

I think Ill be the first to assist you since the thread is filled with cretins today.

Look for a thread titled "Racing Exhaust". An owner did exactly what you want to do, so check it out.

I tried searching for it, but couldn't find it. Do you have a link?

I dont know if anyone else has done this, but when I was swapping my exhaust, I fired it up without any exhaust at all behind the cat. Holy hell was it loud. Gave it some gas and it sounded like a friggin formula 1 racecar. I'm surprised the neighbors didnt hunt me down! I could never live with it every day, but maybe at the track!

I too have pondered the idea of a cutout. I was thinking I could keep the stock exhaust and have the cutout open with vtec engagement. I'm interested in what gains could be seeing with a good header and tuning.
