daily driver discoveries
I have been driving my 02 s2k daily since May -- I love this car, much better than the CRX I had before. I have had a few experiences that I wonder if others have had -- first off, the s2k seems to skip to the side just a bit when running through the gears -- am I really breaking the tires loose, even at 4-5K?, it is abit unsettling -- I am a very smooth shifter. Secondly, this car is wicked in the wet -- I have near spun it around in corners (you must be very smooth on the gas) & it hydroplanes on the interstate very easily (I probably could have slowed down some) -- anyone else notice this. Third, I rarely listen to the radio, can not hear it -- does everyone go out an get more amps. I rarely go out of 4th gear except during long traveling ... otherwise, you can't use the power -- but this is why I bought it, it is sooo intense -- but what about you others, do you keep up this intensity? I have a Sunbeam Tiger that commands the same concentration (in this case, too short of a wheel base) ... to go fast, you must be smooth smooth smooth. So it is with the s2k. Overall, for a 2liter, this is an incredible car, zippy, but like any small bore, it must be revved. I find it easy to live with everyday -- and it looks better than anything else (although the Z is close).
faster-
yes, we all experience the same looseness in the wet... be very careful! i dont know what you mean about the skipping though-
as far as the radio- i prefer to hear the sounds out of the rear end of the car! but a big improvement is lucid's rear speakers... i can now hear the sound system as i am sure it was meant to be heard! if someone in your area has those speakers, check them out- amazing improvement for not a lot of money.

Sunbeam Tigers are suh-weeeet! That's a terrific car. Why even bother with the S2K? Daily driver? Was that the topic of this post? When you buy an S as your daily, you've gotta have something nice for the weekends!
Some people have changed to S03s, great for a daily driver. But, you give up some the handling ! Check out the Tire and wheel forum: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/forumdisplay.ph...p?s=&forumid=56
As for the back end pulling to the side when shifting ... I kind-of like it !!! Play with your tire pressure, a couple of pounds in either direction may make a difference for you. The S02s are performance tires and their compound loses its stickiness below 50 degrees F and cause you slide.
A number of members have also just changed their door speakers and noticed a BIG improvement ! This will be one of my winter projects. Check out the door speakers from Lucid Automotive.

It's their preference.

I have the Neuspeed exhaust and now that it's "matured", it's even louder than when I first put it on. I like it this way. I also have the stock HU with the rear speaker mod. I find the sound and volume to be quite adequate even at highway speeds with the top down. I think those who say the stock HU suck are merely missing the "jungle thumping" of a sub woofer in the trunk.
As for the rear stepping out on a 4000-5000 rpm shift, it's quite possible you have what some of the previous posters have already said. OR you could have experienced this at a time when your tires were stone cold as well as the road surface. In the heat, it is possible to "squawk" the back tires even at 5000 rpm on a 1-2 shift, but you have to be a very fast shifter and time the very aggressive re-application of the throttle just right.
ps. Could you please not use such small print. Us older guys have kinda poor eyesight and I'm straining my reading glasses to the max already.
