My wife uses is as a Daily Driver. Its about 5 mile one way commute 5 times a week. It is the car that gets used the most. It goes on road trips, mall, store, her work, everywhere. We only have 2 cars and the other is my 97 Type-R. It is a theif magnet, so it doesn't go anywhere it will be parked for more than a few min. I do take it to work, but I can park it next to my window and see it all day long. Because of this is why the S2K gets driven so much.

I'm a traveling salesman and use my S as a daily driver. I have put over 26,000 miles on it in about 11 months as mine is a 2003. I have had nothing wrong with it to this point. I change the oil as scheduled by Honda (use Mobil1), but have replaced the rear SO2 tires a couple of times, but not the fronts as yet. At about 15K, I replaced the tranny and rear axle fluids. Uses very little oil. I have fun driving it each day to work and always look forward to driving it. It does use premium fuel, but I do get COMBINED driving mileage of 26. Do it...you'll enjoy it!

My is my daily driver. I actually find that driving home with the top down and radio on greatly relaxes me before I get home!!

Funny you should mention this...here is a quote from the Tire Rack web site:
"The Potenza RE050 was developed to provide good traction along with responsive and predictable dry and wet road handling. It is not intended to be driven in the snow."

20 miles each way to work and back. Interestingly, all the work crap evaporates right about the time I reach for the Start button. Serious magic in that thing, I guess.

sorry to totally revive this thread from the depths of the grave.. but really the only thing that's still an issue is the practicality of me throwing down a good chunk of change on a sports car.. when my daily drive is a 3-mile round trip cruise to work and back. sometimes on the weekends, i like to drive around where ever the wind takes me. but basically.. that's it. we're talking 15 miles a week. less than a thousand miles a year commuting to work and back. keeping in mind, i live in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.. the whole daily driving \ practicality thing is really all that's in question for me now.

can anyone give me some feedback or advice? i would appreciate it.

ps : i have a car i can drive in the winter if i need to.. otherwise i plan on getting snow tires for the S.

thanks, all.

For about 4.5 years, I lived 3 miles from work. In that time, I've averaged about 44 miles per day, or 16,000 per year.

Except for needing to haul things around, the S2000 is a perfect daily driver.

I don't think that S2000 had problems with stop and go.
it has a very noisy engine, there is a lot of air and road noise at any speed
also, the stiff shock absorbers is shit for bad roads
but surprislly, it has a very comfortable seats and ride position

I have a Focus SVT as my DD and g/f has a pickup truck for her daily commute...But when the weekend comes, we can never decide who gets to drive the S2K
