I just got a message from Cory @ stoneguard. They are going to austin to do installs and have no problem stopping in Dallas if some of us here want them also. Is anyone interested?

I will be checking both threads.

I'm also in Dallas (Flower Mound). I have what probably is a dumb question, but I'll ask anyway. What exactly is Stoneguard? Is it protection of some sort. Thanks for your patience as I get caught up.

Its a protection layer over the front of your car to protect it from rocks, bugs and bird bombs. Its basically a clear layer of plastic that semi-adheres to your clearcoat and is transparent after a few days after install.

The upside is you have some additional protection in the front and dont have to worry so much about paint chips from rocks or your lights getting dinged up.

The downside is its kinda expensive but there are sevral price range options and if you wreck the front of the car it does not do you much good.

For me, I want it so I can go on longer trips with the car and not worry about all the crap that accumulates on the front during a drive effecting my paint.

do a search for stoneguard on this site and you will find some folks that have already had it installed.

Thanks for the info. You're right - is it costly, but I'm sure less than painting the front end. I'll consider it and watch the board for dates.
Thanks again
