Default Damaged Rim...a little help please

Heading into DFW's parking facility yesterday and they have a curb painted black (looks just like the pavement in the shade and on a curve). My driver's side front rim scrapes the curb. Anything short of replacing the rim that can get the scratches out or at least repolished? Any help is appreciated.

i got mine fixed and polished (dented and scratched) for around 60 bucks at a local wheel shop. Results were great...looked like i just got them. Not every shop does this kinda thing. You're best bet is to look for one that refurbishes or remanufactures them...

Several people advertise wheel repair and refinishing. Look in back of an issue of Car & Driver, R & T, Automobile, etc.

If you are in the DFW area you can go to Wheel Technologies in Carrollton. They are the facility most shops send their wheels to for repair. I have used them and was very happy with the results.

I think the price is the same if you take the wheel to a Discount Tire and have them send it to the shop. I just bypassed the middle man to get things done quicker.

When I scraped my rim, i took one of those bars you use to sharpen knives to smooth out the edges of the rim, then took rubbing compound to refinish the rim, did a pretty good job too.
