Damn This Car Is Awesome.
Today I attended an open SCCA autocross class here in Louisville. In the four months I've owned my S I have never even tried to get the rear to kick out. Today was another story.
I have never raced autocross b4 today and I was so suprised at the cars capabilities. I've aways heard how good it was but never felt how easy it is to drive the S once you get it moving. I still have not found a good way to Launch in 95 degree humid weather (My only complaint about the var).
During the morning classes we broke into four groups. I was fastest in the short course by half a second. The class included drivers that had some experience and were driving Boxter's, WRX's and an Integra. It was great to smoke them all.
However once we got on the long course, and all four groups met back up for our timed runs I still did ok but the M3's and WRX's, RX7's were beating me by over a second.
Over all I had a great day and to top it off I felt like being within a second and half of M3, RX7 drivers that had years of experience I did ok.
It sure felt great to hear the instructor tell me that I was the best first day novice he'd ever seen...... Must be the car right?
If you have never experienced autocross in your S, Do IT, you'll have a smile on your face all day long.

I have no desire to drive on the streets like I did at the track today.
All I'm saying is that I can't imagine to many stock cars handle better than the S. It is so perfect and predictible.
