can anyone post any pics and instructions on how to perform the headlight conversion from 00-03 to 04 setup. i know the earlier ballast only seems to line up in one corner on the bottom of the o4 headlights, but i'm stumped otherwise. also i could not get the black plug from the ballast into the circular whole in the bottom of the 04 casings.
any help would be great.

sorry i dont know the answer to your questions but i did order the 04 headlights and 04 ballasts, harness, ignitor and it should be here in a week. hardtopguy told me i was the first pre 04 to order 04 ballasts so ill let you guys know if its all plug and play. hopefully it will be so i dont have to splice any wires.

 

Search retrofit. I can't tell you the exact thread but I did this last night. Found pics, instructions, pitfalls and everything else you'll need to know?

I would leave them alone and stick with your 00-03 before you jump into this project. If you have the 04 ballasts yada yada yada its an easier procedure. I have all the 04 hardware now and without it, it was a 4-5 hour install job with fabricating a bracket to make the 04 headlamp work with the 00-03 ballast. With all the correct hardware it should be a 1-2 hour install. Another S2k member here in Hawaii has the 04s with all hardware and has for months now. He said it would be a lot easier doing it that way so I went the other route then changed over once my 04 ballasts got here a month ago. BluredS2k, I dont wait, AJRacing, Spoonus, and myself have done the coversion already with and without the 04 ballasts and hardware. Just pm me if you run into problems.. I also kind changed my fronts. I took out the parking lamps. Thought they were useless. Let us know..and good luck..

How many of you have done the 04 headlight conversion without the 04 ballasts? How difficult is it to do it without the ballasts? I'd like to have some feedback from you before I start doing it myself.

Try PM'ing AJ_pwr he's done it to his or do a search for "2004 conversion part 1" or something like that. I'm still waiting for my headlights and I'll post about how easy/difficult it is to install.

 

j'sap1, so are the 04 ballasts plug and play to pre 04 cars? or will i have to splice some wires??? or just tell me which one of the people you mentioned has 04 ballasts so i can just pm them.
