I visited Taiwan back in the early 90s and I didn't see the sun the entire week I was there because of the pollution.

Also, plants convert CO2 to oxygen, not CO to CO2. This is why deforestation is really bad for the earth as it reduces the planets ability to convert CO2 to O2.

Here's some fun stuff from China where filtering products for air and water are required because pollution is so bad:

actually, carbon monoxide rapidly oxidises forming carbon dioxide naturally within plants through photosynthesis FYI

So what are you saying? F me because I'm riding in the car in back of you??
I went to the Philippines a few years back and the pollution there was so bad. There were no pollution controls and it was common place to see old smoky vehicles on the road. Everyone holds a handkerchief over their face when they go out. When I saw that I knew I would never run a test pipe. I returned there recently and the first thing I noticed was that the air was much cleaner. I found they have taken a firm stand against pollution as well. There is a push there to outlaw older vehicles and there are incentives being offered for consumers of new vehicles.

I did some more research as the most common cause of death in the three countries mentioned here:
China, Taiwan, and The Philippines
Leading Causes Of Death In China - WorldAtlas.com

"Cancer

Nearly one-third, 28%, of all deaths in China are caused by malignant neoplasms or cancerous tumors. Of the cancers that affect the Chinese population, lung cancer is the most common. This disease is a result of the widespread practice of tobacco smoking, a habit the government is not keen on preventing given that the state tobacco corporation provides between 7% and 10% of the national revenue. Air pollution is another significant factor contributing to the development of cancer. China has one of the worst outdoor air qualities in the world. "

It is the same for the other countries mentioned.

I'll do everyone, including myself, a favor, I'll keep my cat. Somehow, I know I'll make a difference.

What is anyone testing with a (wink, nudge) "test pipe?" Deleting the catalytic converter should be called just what it is, a "cat delete."

The S already has a high-flow cat, and replacing with a test pipe just makes your car stink and will soot your rear bumper, for negligible gain. Just stick with the stock cat. I'd only consider replacing if my cat went bad and I didn't have to worry about emissions tests because it is a cheap option, but that is not usually the case.

I can tell you from years of driving S2000s and being around people that remove their cats that one, no S2000 with a test pipe has ever been able to escape me, two, they smell like ass, and three, their rear bumpers look like ass if you are not constantly wiping them down.

I have two pre '75 cars that didn't come with any cats, don't smell like gas, bumper looks good and no way I'm putting a cat on them.

Cats didn't become a requirement until 1975.
