I can guess. To make you go to the gas station and fill up before you run out because you think there is less fuel in the tank than there really is.

HAHAHA!! I've been on the same quest. This is quiet interesting. My conclusion, some models have it some dont. I still think this is a common DEFECT honda refuse to admit!!

i have a feeling that it NEVER LIGHTS UP....and that people just think it does.....i've asked for a pic of a dash with it lit up...and I have yet to see one

The 2003 brochure that I picked up at the dealer when I got my car doesn't have it lit up, either. Looks like something they're saving for the '05 model year!
