Two things:

1.) Did you have LoJack installed on your car? I had it installed on mine and that was what made noises in my car... but it was all the time.

2.) The only thing I can think of for cold weather only vibrating sounds like a snap fitting that is just a little loose...so when it is cold the plastic shrinks and a gap opens up...then as your car gets warmer... the plastic heats up and expands. Take it into the dealer... get your warranty's worth!!!!!!

I have an 02' also. I believe this is the "Technical Service Bulletin 054." And you can have it fixed under warranty. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I have an '02 with 700+ miles. I always try to keep the RPM below 4K when the engine is "cold" and I am quite sure that the engine operates around 2K quite often. Don't notice any dashboard noise. I'll turn the radio off to check this out the next time. Temperature is mostly around 40s F in the morning, 60s F when I head home from work.

noticed similar noise in the past. i played with everything...then one day i was actually cleaning the front window and the little plastic thing fell off from behind the rearview mirror. i put it back in place without thinking about. a week later i realized no more noises...

coincidence...maybe...
