The Day Has Come to Choose: S2K or 350Z
Try purchasing the newest Best Motoring video, as they have a very detailed review of the 350Z:

Their opinion is that the Z makes a fine "first" sports car, but track junkies should probably look elsewhere.

if you have only one car. and need little bit more of cargo space.
get the 350z. ( I would get the G35 coupe 6speed for sure if I had money.)
I would say it's competition between convertible vs luxury sports coupe.
but I would love to have them both.
p.s. I heard that 350z doesn't "feel" like it's fast even if it's going fast. It's good for some people. and not for some people.
I got the S2000. and partly because they don't let me test drive the z. (in my area, they don't) and because I do care about the dealer service which I heard it's not the best.
I mean I'm paying lot of money in here and they don't even let me what is it like?
well good luck

You become an S2K "owner" when you see it for the first time... if you have to think about it, get the 350Z. Besides, the S is best experienced as a "fair weather" car. You could have some issues with that in Toronto.
Always go with your first choice. After debating on getting a WRX or an S2k, I opted for the WRX. Then after smashing the WRX to h3ll, I was in the same debate about the S2K and the 350Z. Well, one thing made me decide. The S2000 was designed from the ground up. Unlike the beefed up Altima... or the beefed up Impreza...
The S2000 is a pure sports car, purposely built, not just hopped up (although the 350Z has many many hop-ups).

It really is a tough choice. Try to keep in mind that you have to live with your choice after the "newness" or "novelty" wears off. Think in those terms, and be honest with yourself. That should make the decision easier. Try to figure out which car you want in your garage six months from now.
I love my S and wouldn't consider a Z, but that is how I feel. You need to find out how you feel. This is a question that only you can answer.

Personally, I don't see many similarities between the cars -- so I don't understand why the decision would be so tough. Hardtop vs convertible, 4 vs 6 cy, limited production vs mass production, limited potential for performance upgrades vs more potential, Honda vs Nissian dealership, purpose built vs one-for-all built, loud VETC'ing vs less annoying, etc.
That ridiculous the way the dealers wont let you test drive a Z. Its a MAINSTREAM MASS PRODUCED VEHICLE. They are nothing special they are going to bring 30,000 a year into the US. They will be a common as Ford Exploders in a few months.
If you are in doubt go ahead and get the Z. Leave the S for someone else.

You can't buy more performance for the dollar than an S2000. If performance means 1/4 mile or zero to sixty, buy a Camaro. If performance means total handling and power, ability to take turns, avoid accidents, and still go 167 mph, buy the S2000.
If this isn't enough, you're beyond human help. Ask the Magic 8 Ball.
