I know our car comes with them in Canada and I think in Europe and Japan as well. I was wondering, it there a way to rig the US versions to have DRL? Is it just a matter of installing a fuse? Does it require re-wiring? Please help!! Thanks!

How about just turning on your lights? Why do you want or need them, anyway?

I want them because I think they are a very good saftey feature and because when my wife drives the car, I have a pretty good feeling she NEVER remembers to turn the lights on. I guess it would just make me feel better when she drives since I have had SOOOO many close calls and she doesnt....uh...exactly have the same reflexes as I....

I'm not sure whats involved in getting the DRLs to function. Might see if someone with the shop manual can tell you...

I got the DRLs from the dealer. I got it for "free" for getting the passive alarm and extended warranty. I noticed there is no difference in intensity in DRL mode vs. having the head lights on. The insurance company gave a small discount for having the DRLs.

IMO, there is a huge difference to the intensity of DRL and headlights.

These pics in the daylight are my reasonings..

No Daytime running lights allowed in Europe!!

DRLs are typically the high beam lights running on reduced power. I thought the HIDs do not come on at DRL...

Correct, HID do not come on at all unless the headlights are manual switched on.
