Default Dead Battery

I hope someone can give me some input on this issue of anyone has experienced the same problem. I own a 2004 S2000 that has about 6500-8k miles on it. I don't remember the exact mileage on the car since it hasn't been driven for 3 months, it's been sleeping in the garage. I finally went out the other day to start her up, and find out the battery was dead. So i decided I'd try to give it a jump start, nope. Nothing happened. Still didn't wanna start. So i took the battery out and went to Autozone to have them try to recharege the battery and they did whatever it is that they do, and came back and told me the battery is dead, it cannot be recharged blahaha.....

So I called Honda, and found out the battery is under warranty but, I'd need to bring the car in for them to look at it with the battery. To see if there is anything wrong with the car. The problem is, I need to get the car towed there since i don't excatly have a spare battery lying around. They said they might consider paying for the charges if it's a defected battery.

Does anyone have any input on my sisutation as to what I should do? Should I just go ahead and buy a brand new battery or what....?

Thanks guys

I had my battery replaced through Honda when it died too. I remember an old thread that mentioned this problem that several owners experienced.

Take it to Honda and let them diagnose the problem for you.

I'd make sure they'd cover the tow charges first if it's far away. I don't see why you couldn't jump it though even if the battery is dead. If you're thinking about getting a sound system, then maybe you should spring for an optima yellow top or something.

For future reference, I'd get a battery tender if you plan on not driving your car for a while. Works great for motorcycles as well

Thanks guys. Yeah, I was thinking about a yellow top, I have one in my 00 accord. Great Battery. I don't know why it woudln't jump start. The car won't start but when I try to jump the battery the dash would turn off but once I take the cables off, everything just dies again.

I'll most likely take it to Honda.

But does anyone know why this happend??

Do you have an alarm? OEM or aftermarket?

There are people that use this battery on this board so I know it fits. I'm not sure if they had to fool with the tray to get it to fit though. Either way, it shouldn't be a big deal.
