Default Was the dealership supposed to do this?

I took my car in a couple of days ago for the 7500 mile service. When I picked it up I noticed that the dealership put some kind of white silicon grease or something to that effect all over everything that meets the top when it is up. I have been thinking of wiping it all off because it is getting on my hands, windows and is basically driving me crazy.

Yeah its to treat your rubber seals. I'm suprised a dealership actually did this for you!

You could wipe off the excess though.

Wow, a dealership doing something extra. Be happy they did that. You're supposed to treat your seals with a silicon grease to keep them in good shape. Shouldn't be a problem to wipe off the extra with a towel or something. Just make sure not to take it all off or mess up the seals.

It's probably Shin-itsu silicone grease. Be happy they did it. That's the first dealer that I've heard of doing this for a customer. You should thank them for it.

I would praise that dealership for being so generous. Check the invoice to see how much it was.

Who is the dealer. The dealer should be praised for taking an extra step for the customer.

I am very surprised of a dealership doing something extra!!! Usually they don't do enough. Consider yourself lucky
