Default dealerships suck!

i brought my car to the dealership to find out and fix my rear end shake, and i told them it is bad inner cv joints, and they should pay special attention to them.... well a week later they dont know whats wrong with my car so i had to tell them again that i know for sure that it is the inner cv joints, so they order me a left axle and a right axle, and sure enough...it fixed the problem, so thanks to everyone that told me it was the inner cv joints on my car!!!

Depends on the dealer i suppose... The dealership I took mine to had a clicking in the car coming from the front, and didnt know what it was at first, but then they knew what it was about 2 hours after they were looking at it. Its about mechanic skill i suppose. Turns out it was the crankshaft.

Following the first complimentary oil change after buying my new S2K, I'm driving on the freeway and noticed the car smelled like burning oil.

So, I'm thinking... No, they couldn't have... So I pulled over to the side of the road to check, and yes, they did forget to put on my oil cap.

There was oil everywhere... I was !@#%! pissed off.

Dealer had to deal with a very irate customer, steam clean engine and replace the cloth/felt liner beneath the hood.

My power steering went out this past weekend. Was fine just driving along and all of a sudden no power steering and the sterring wheel with the exclamation point came up on the dash.
Took the car in and sure enough the EPS (electronic power steering unit) was bad.
They told me they were going to order it on Tuesday. Wednesday comes around and the dealership tells me that they will have the part on Thursday (yesterday). Guy calls me yesterday and tells me that it is on national back order and it could be weeks before they have the part.
I asked him if they were going to give me a loaner while I am waiting for the repair and he said they don't do that.
So I have no car for the next few weeks.

You know, you can drive the car without power steering.

Yeah, I know you can.
The problem is that it cuts in and out.
That makes it kind of dangerous when making turns and stuff.
Especially with my 8 year old in the car.

how much did they charge you to diagnose it? I know that all they need to do is plug in a special Honda scanning tool (not a regular OBDII reader) and it will show them a code specifically for the power steering setup. I am just wondering because i had my power steering go out on me as well, and when i brought it to a local dealership, they wanted to charge me $200 to have it "diagnosed". diagnosing it consisted of bringing it to their garage, having the mechanics take a look at it, keeping it overnight, and tinkering with it .. but i did my research and i knew all they needed to do was plug the damn scanner in and read a code.. bah

I took my car to South Bay Honda in Los Gatos, CA for an oil change last winter. About a month later I noticed my clutch pedal starting to fade and after a couple days, I had no clutch pedal at all. I popped the hood and noticed no cap on my clutch master and the resvoir was empty, luckily the cap was sitting right underneath (unfortuantely the paint down there was trashed). I had another dealership bleed the system and all is well.

South Bay Honda still calls me every month or so to remind me I'm overdue for another oil change at which time I tell the nice telemarketer lady how the dealership mechanics are incompetant and that they have lost my business for good as well as anyone who hears my story. I keep asking them to remove my number from their call list, but they never do.

It's very hard to find consistantly competant mechanics. When I owned old Z cars I went to Scott Performance, I trusted those guys, they never screwed anything up, too bad they don't work on Hondas.
