decided to remove the tint
yep, after a month and a half of having the static tint on, I decided to remove and redo the job. I wasn't satisfied with my first (amateur) install because there were lots of dust/dirt particles trapped between due to insufficient cleaning prior to install also, a bubble had formed right in the center.
However, when I removed the tint (which sticks quite well by the way), I noticed that the dirt/dust particles trapped in there had left little "indentations" or scars in the plastic window (doesn't look like its coming out). Also, the bubble in there wasn't a bubble afterall. Looks like an area where the plastic warped (the way it does when your top goes down and there's a little crook in it), but in this case, it doesn't look like its straightening itself out.
Other than that, the window was very clean and didn't exhibit signs of scratch or anything from the convertible top strut pressing down on it (the way it would if there was no tint). I think I'll leave it off for a while, and see if the "indentations" and "crook/bend" come back out with a little sun and heat.
Just a word of advice. Bothe the tint and the window itself have to be really reaaly really really (did I say really?) clean before you do this.

That is amazing. . .right when you decide to take yours off, I go and have someone put one on my S2000. . .
I had the side windows tinted (regular tint film) and the rear plastic window tinted with the static cling. . .the tint shop was hesitant at first but I insisted that they try it. . .it looks great from the outside. From the inside, it looks distorted but it's livable for me right now until it dries completely and I see how it endures. . .

..well, I did a pretty sh_tty job, and am hesitant to try it again, at the moment. Having it on their is very cool and offers great protection, but right now, I'm going to hold off until the window itself returns to normal form.
