Default Densoir Iridium Spark Plugs

My friend at work says he put these Densoir Iridium Spark Plugs on his Acura CL and claims he got 4 hp and 7ft lbs of torque from them. Does anyone know if these would do anything for our cars...hell if it gives me 2hp and 2tq I would be happy...hell the investment is only $50. Anyone here tried these in the S?

I thought a while back a study was done showing that spark plugs doesn't actually give you any additional HP or Torque as long as the existing ones are functioning "properly" (eg. not damaged or sparking improperly).

Random Thought,

I noticed an immediate difference, but remember: just replacing the plugs with new ones of the exact same type will generally show an improvement. As I understand it, the advantage of Denso's iridium plug is that it allows for that sharply pointed terminal, which effectively concentrates the E-field when voltage is applied. This in turn provides a more reliable spark, and/or allows a wider plug gap for a more intense spark.

Still, the hp/torque figures you mention seem optimistic, unless his old plugs were nearly dead.

I dynoed mine at install and there was a small gain which could actually be attributed to inconsistency on the dyno. However, the VTEC transition was noticably smoother as well as at idle operation. I would definitely recommend them.

They sure do look nice.

JC Whitneys Import catalogue has them now too.

I kinda felt a difference, but for the cost, I think that may have something to do with it..

They improved the idle noticeably and the improvement did not decay away with use. I recommend them.
